I believe that is Jim Hardin on the inside of Clark. Is that Bond behind Gawlinski? I can not figure out who is behind Lewis. We kept waiting for the Christmas lights to come out that year. The good ol' days.
Jerry Clark #54 Not sure who is in the inside of Clark Wayne Para #22 Pat Echlin #49 Frank Gawlinski #3 Not sure who is behind Gawlinski Ted Moore #36 Jerry Lewis #3 Not sure who is behind Lewis Bob Strait #88 Larry Middleton #71 Bud Koehler #77 Tom Nielsen #7 Not sure who is behind Nielsen Jerry Kemperman #6 Bobby Dotter #67 Dennis Perzley #21
I'm pretty sure Weitemeyer was there that day, maybe he is behind Lewis. He had an all white front end by the end of the season. First Turn Gang should know everyone there that day. Go to the tape...

It was the end of the season. To be exact it was Nov 5th ot 6th, 1977, and it was 3-30 lap monzas. Pete was going to run 'til XMas that year, but the attendance fell off. Too bad, because it was some great late model racing. That day, Dennis Perezley won the 3rd feature. Bob Strait and Bobby Dotter are out there along with Bud Koehler in his last race.

Prime example of an early cattle catcher aero package. At Raceway, this innovation could best be called a "spin-out blade", as pushing the car ahead of you won races, not the ground force of an aero package as one thundered down 900 feet of straightaway.

It must have been the end of the season. Cars look pretty battered. Frank Gawlinski in the black number 3 Chevelle. I think this was the year before the infamous yellow 14 Camaro made its debut.

Look how fresh the body looked. Ted's car usually showed alot of wear and tear. He may not have had the fastest car, but he was a tough competitor. He never let ANYONE by him without a fight.

This was a beginning of an era. The combination of great car and great driver. Got sick of him winning at times during his career, but was sure on the best in the Chicagoland.

Wow, look at the people in the backstretch stands. It must have been the 4th of July. And yes I know the guy that was excited to see that spin.
