It is just a normal clip available from any farm type store. I did add a small piece of vacuum hose to keep it from rattling. The hood CANNOT come open with this clip in place which gives good peace of mind when banging through the gears. One small tip is to heat the drilling area cherry red before drilling so you can get through the hardened metal. Then just let it cool down slowly.
WOW....you did one helluva job on this piece my man! But I'm going to have to argue the point that this car is DONE. If you are a true car man, and I think you are, these types of projects are never totally done. There seems to always be that "one more item" that the owner wants to have done or do to the car. Right? LOL Regardless, it is a very nice looking piece. Take pride in your work, you've earned it.

The wheels are 17x7 and 17x8 with 4.5 inch backspace. The rearend is out of a 68 nova and I understand it is slightly narrower. It would be a tight fit otherwise (It is still pretty snug.) Thanks for the compliments!!!
Now you've done it. I was convinced that I should paint my 55 B/A H.T. red and white, and now I see your car and again, solid red looks awesome on a B/A H.T. It looks fantastic!! You sure make things hard on a guy. This little debate has been going on in my head for over a year, you may have changed my mind, AGAIN!
Is there something on the from part of the clip on top to keep it from going in too far?
Great photo album and an absolutely BEAUTIFUL '55!
