Tulip Time 2008 - Belgium & The Netherlands

The Conn-Ryder 8 day riverboat cruise from Amsterdam through the Netherlands and Belgium on the MS Amadagio: leaving 4/27/08 and returning 5/4/08. Cities photographed include Edam, Volendam, Arnhem, Antwerp, Brussels, Bruges, Ghent, Willemstad and Amsterdam, including a visit to the Keukenhof Gardens which are famous for the tulips.

I will eventually put all our photos up, with a separate album for each city. This album is more a summary of the trip.

I used a Sony Cybershot DSC-90W, 8.1 megapixel.

"Roman Charity" on Mammelokker Jail

Mammelokker is Ghent dialect and refers to the bas-relief of Roman Charity on the façade. It depicts the legend of Cimon who is sentenced to death by starvation. His daughter Pero, a wet nurse, secretly breastfeeds him during her visits to keep him alive.
