Fantasy of Flight bills itself as the "World's Largest Private Aircraft Collection".
The art deco facility is home to over 50 rare and vintage aircraft, taking visitors back to the pioneering days of early flight, World War I, World War II and beyond. Most of the aircraft in the collection are airworthy and may be seen flying. They were painstakingly acquired by lifelong aviation enthusiast Kermit Weeks, a skilled aerobatics competitor and aircraft designer.
Fantasy of Flight is located near Polk City, Florida (about 20 miles southwest of Walt Disney World).

The local chapter of the Porsche Club of America held its 11th annual car show "Fast Planes, Fast Cars" at the Canadian Aviation Museum in Ottawa.
Many Porsches ranging from vintage classics to modern super cars and full-blown racing machines as well as other exotic cars attended.

Located next to Washington DC's Dulles Airport, this brand new Smithsonian facility contains many large aircraft and spacecraft --- including the Space Shuttle "Enterprise", an Air France Concorde, a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, a prototype Boeing 707, the "Enola Gay" B-29 Superfortress, Curtiss P-40 Kittyhawk, Grumman Hellcat, F4 Phantom II, P47D Thunderbolt, and a perfectly restored Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIc (acquired in a trade from the Royal Air Force Museum at Hendon in 1969).
The number of artifacts on display will double in the next few years.

The Oceana Naval Air Station Air Show featured flight demonstrations by the Navy's F-14 Tomcats, F/A-18 Hornets and F/A-18F Super Hornets, Air Force F-15 Eagle, F-16 Falcon and A-10 Thunderbolts, the Red Bull MiG, an F-86 Sabre, P-51 Mustang, F-4U Corsair, E-2C Hawkeye, the Navy Leap Frogs and Army Black Daggers parachute teams, The Skytypers skywriting team, wingwalker Theresa Stokes, the very popular Shockwave jet truck, the ultra-secret B2 bomber, and many static aircraft displays on the flight line.
The featured act, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels F/A-18 precision aerobatic flying team, unfortunately cancelled due to recent hurricane damage at their home base in Pensacola , Florida.
