Summer is finally here and the cars are out and looking really good. Lots of hard work and time goes into them and it really shows. These guys have a lot of pride in the outcome. The rock n'roll music is playing and everyone has a good time.

Dale Earnhardt's last race at Loudon, New Hampshire - September 2000.

Dale Earnhardt, the seven-time NASCAR Winston Cup champion, died following a last-lap crash at the Daytona 500. 2/18/2001

There may have been some that did not like him in the racing scene and others who wanted to be like him...he was a legend during his life and now will forever be a legend in Nascar. My heart goes out to his family for their loss and pray that he may rest in peace.

I went over to Quinnipiac University on Sunday to have a look at some of the "beautiful cars" at the car show - it was a fund raiser and was a huge success. So many cars, so many people - the weather couldn't have been better. The music was provided by a 50's doo-wop group...(fantastic) and could be heard around the entire grounds. Just one event this weekend to start off the summer season.

This is a day at the New Hampshire International race track up in beautiful New Hampshire. There are 140,000 people all enjoying a great race.
The pics aren't too crisp because I was watching and photographing at the same time. Seconds make the difference.

September 17, 2006 - - another race at Loudon.

This is the most fun sport to watch in person - the sounds, the speed and the fans....nothing else like it.....

Saturday I headed north to the New Hamsphire Motor Speedway for the Lenox Industrial Tools 301 race....Kris is going with me....I hope for some good pics not only of the races but of New Hampshire as well - the sun is finally shining.
I've loaded in the pics now that I'm back home on Monday.
The race got rained out on lap 264 in the event scheduled to go 301 laps.
The rains stayed throughout the evening but Monday the sun was shining again for the trip back to CT.

Heading north from CT to New Hampshire for a weekend of races. Sue from FL and Kris from Southington, CT and me. Weather was great - we had a good time.

The Rolex vintage festival is a 4-day celebration here in CT.
