Port Jefferson, NY - DayTripper   RSS
Taking the ferryboat out of Bridgeport, CT to Port Jefferson, NY is a little more than an hour each way. I totally enjoy being on the water - I grew up on the sound and to this day I still love it....The "sound" being Long Island Sound...the waters between CT and Long Island.

The first picture I take as we leave the Bpt harbor
Here's one of the ferryboats heading back from Port Jeff
Beautiful weather for a daytrip to Port Jefferson
Now we start seeing the boats on the water
Just sailing in the breeze
This guy kept going back and forth in the wake of the ferryboat
Here he is again jumping in the waves
The colors in the breeze
This was the anchor chain - on whatever thats called
More people out on their sailboat enjoying the day
Here we are getting close to the port
Some of the sand dunes in the distance
Nice sailboat - notice the home in the background
Here's the Martha Jefferson paddleboat
Neat looking boat for a tour
Here are the tugs of Port Jefferson - Joan McAllister and Alex McAllister
Here's The Joan
A small waterfall with some flowers
Along the walkway
I enjoy these flowers so I thought I'd make a notecard
Here is the sign as you enter the towne
Welcome to Port Jefferson
I liked the colors on this wheel so I bought one
Back home on the balcony - I love the colors and the way it spins in the breeze
Here are the rest of the windwheels
In one of the toy stores - a penguin
Area down by the docks to sit and just relax
This is a statue in front of a bed-n-bath
The sand dunes as we get ready to leave
This is as we were leaving Port Jefferson harbor
Again, going in the opposite direction of us
Sun on the water
Another sailboat out in the sound
This sailboat was so far away - I zoomed in on it as best I could
It was just a tiny dot to the naked eye
And this was sooooo far away I didn't know what it was until I zoomed in
It's a lighthouse
More sailing - the breezes were perfect
More of the same boat
The two little kids were just too cute not to take a picture - they didn't know each other - the parents walked them over to the back to look out - just too cute
Sun is setting a bit more as we head for home
Here's a lighthouse right in Bpt.
Fishing out on one of the breakers
This tug wasn't working - just anchored in the harbor
Quite colorful I thought
Sun is setting as we arrive back to Bpt
Another shot of the golden glow
Have no idea what this is - its at the Bridgeport docks
