Old toy - Holden VZ Calais, 6 cylinder 190KW, great fuel economy without having to go to a four cylinder, beautiful 260W sound system with crystal clear output and plenty of bass from the subwoofers. Awesome to drive, and has plenty of safety features. The ESP function is particularly good (computer controls the brakes on each wheel if you start to get out of line); driving on wet roads is like being on dry roads. I've driven some good Australian-produced cars before, but this leaves them for dead with a great mix of quality, comfort and performance for a reasonable price......but that was before the SSV.

Mid-life crisis kicked in and told me I needed a nice sporty car with a bit of grunt, before i get too old to manage the power.......so sold the Calais and bought a V8 SSV Commodore (this is the same model exported to the USA as the G8 Pontiac GT).

All I can say is AWESOME.....

Spectacular to drive, holds the road beautifully, and the acceleration is frightening when you really kick it in the guts....have to be really careful overtaking....by the time the cars in front of you have looked and seen a clear lane next to them and started to move over, you're next to them...had quite a few close calls; will need to ease off the overtaking acceleration.
The whole car has been pretty much re-engineered and has a host of nice features, great safety Driving to work is a pleasure....except for the d*ckheads on the road.....can't say the same for work though.....
