Backrest relocation

This modification raises the backrest 2.5" in the front and, depending on what angle adjustment you make to it, about 3" in the rear. It can be fine tuned to fit your situation. Only some minor cutting of the stock slider, and fabrication of some simple brackets is necessary. I did this with scraps I had lying around so the cost was $0. To remove the backrest assembly, open the seat. There are two small recesses where the ends of the rods will be when the rest is all the way back. Carefully remove the two phillips head screws at the end of the rods. The whole assembly can now be removed out the front when you squeeze the adjustment lock. Once off, pry out the staples holding the rear cover on the backrest exposing the 3 nuts that hold the mechanism to the backrest. Follow the pics from there.
