02-JOHNSTOWN FLOOD-PA - Jun 2, 2007
-
ON MAY 31ST, 1889 IN JOHNSTOWN, PA, THE DAM HOLDING BACK ON OF THE LARGEST MAN MADE LAKE IN THE WORLD OVERFLOWED, WASHING AWAY ENOUGH EARTH TO ALLOW FOR THE SUDDEN AND COMPLETE DESTRUCTION OF THE EARTH AND ROCK DAM. GOING DOWN A NARROW VALLEY, PICKING UP TREES AND ROCKS IN ITS PATH, IT HIT JOHNSTOWN LIKE A PROBERVIAL TON OF BRICKS. HOUSES SMASHED INTO OTHER HOUSES KILLING ALL OCCUPANTS AND STILL SWEEPING EVERYTHING WITH IT INCLUDING PEOPLE, TRAINS, HOUSES, TREES, ANIMALS, BUGGIES, AND FACTORY BUILDINGS. IN 10 MINUTES, IT WAS OVER, AS FAR AS THE WATER WAS CONCERNED. BUT WHAT WAS LEFT BEHIND IS SOMETHING WE MUST ALL PRAY THAT IT DOES NOT HAPPEN AGAIN, ANYWHERE. THE MOVIES WE SAW GIVE YOU AN EXCELLENT SENSE OF THE TERROR OF THE EVENT. - Album was created 6 years ago and modified 1 year 2 months ago

03.-CLINTON LIBRARY, LITTLE ROCK, ARK - Jun 4, 2007
-
LOCATED AT THE CLINTON PRESIDENTIAL PRESIDENTIAL CENTER. CONTAINS 76.8 MILLION PAGES OF PAPER DOCUMENTS AND 1.85 MILLION PHOTOGRAPNS AND 75,000 MUSEUM ARTIFACTS. THE ENTIRE BILL CLINTON PRESIDENTIAL STORY IS HERE (MINUS A PARTICULAR ITEM!) WITH HE DOING NARATION ON MUCH OF THE WORKS. CLEARLY HE SPENT A LOT OF TIME ON THIS, AND SUPPOSEDLY DID ALL THE SELECTING. VERY NICE IN MANY WAYS BUT --IN MY VIEW, QUESTIONABLE ARCHITECTURE WENT INTO THIS BUILDING. WHAT THEY HAD FOR DISPLAYS WAS EXTENSIVE I BUT WOULD HAVE PREFERED MORE SECONDARY MOVIES WHERE YOU CAN SIT AND CONTIMPLATE THE THOUGHTS, AS SEEN AT THE OTHER PRESIDENTIAL MUSEUMS WE HAVE SEEN BEFORE. NO PLACE TO SIT AND CONSIDER THE STORY BEING TOLD. - Album was created 6 years ago and modified 6 years ago

05-CANYON DE CHELLY (pronounced Shea) - Jun 8, 2007
-
This is a most wonderful secret place with few aware of how beautiful it is. In the upper north east corner of Arizona, is is between no to destinations, so you have to make it a goal. And a rewarding goal it is. Difficult to photograph because of the extreme light, but I tried. I have found that it is brighter when it is a little overcast. (not raining.) - Album was created 6 years ago and modified 6 years ago

06-GRAND CANYON - Jun 9, 2006
-
We drove from Canyon deChelly to Grand Canyon and arrived arround noon. Came in from the east and then did all the stops on the South east rim. About 3 hours. As usual, there was a haze over the canyon, but the digial approch to photography enabled me to correct much of the haze. - Album was created 6 years ago and modified 6 years ago

13-DINOSAUR NATIONAL MONUMENT - Jun 26, 2007
-
This National Monument is no longer a working site for dinosaurs. It has a potential for being a very interesting tourist point. It is NOT that at this time. The displays were poorly place, the tv set for the movie was facing the light outside the building and you saw nothing, and while the staff was friendly, nothing was done to give this site the interest that it should have--a long out of the way drive for a less than satisfactory visit. - Album was created 5 years 10 months ago and modified 5 years 10 months ago
