Mt. Dix Wilderness in the Adirondacks

A two-night backpacking trip into the Mt. Dix Wilderness of the Adirondacks. We did the following loop: Elk Lake - Dix Pond - Hunter's Pass - Mt. Dix (elev. 4,840 ft) - Dix Pond - Elk Lake. The highlight of the trip was spending a night on the summit of Mt. Dix. The temperatures plummeted to about 10 degrees F. We watched a gorgeous scarlet sunset, followed by a magical moonlit night, followed by a breathtaking sunrise. Participants: Yura Friedman, Maksim Kalashnikov, Masha Meytlis, Sergei Pershman.
