These were taken in San Francisco, CA in October of 2010 during what is called Fleet Week. The nice thing about this show is that show center is over the water, so none of the FAA rules regarding flying over populated areas apply and they typically can break the sound barrier during this show. Unfortunately the planes never quite got there on the day I was viewing. We were on a 3 story tall tour boat and the planes were flying by at eye level - it was a fabulous event that I will endeavor to make into an annual pilgramage...
