10/16: CSS & Ladytron @ the Fillmore: I didn't take too many photos of CSS cuz I was too busy taking videos! I LOVED THEM! Ladytron live doesn't do it for me as much as on CD, but still a fun show.

10/18: SF Weekly Music Awards @ the Fillmore: Ali got us listed & VIP, no less! We got to hang out with our friends, the Birdmonster boys, and enjoy a great show of local music!

Our friend Jordan put together an awesome competition for us to all taste & vote on the best burrito in town. Each of us named our favorite taqueria, teams were assigned and we all met at Dolores Park for a day of drinking beer, eating chips & salsa and carefully evaluating every delicious burrito brought to the table in a quest to find the best!

The winner was La Taqueria, followed closely by my favorite and Ali & I's team choice: Papalote! After that it was Gordos, then Taqueria Cancun (which I chose as my #2), San Francisco Taqueria, "Someplace in Marin" (hah), and lastly Nick's Crispy Taco's (rule of thumb there obviously being get their tacos instead). SUPER FUN! Next up we're having a sushi off! My friends rule.

We were mostly there to see Aberdeen City, who we love! They were great! I only stayed for a little of Electric Six, as to me all their songs started sounding the same after awhile. But they had some serious fans there and apparently I should get some of their newer stuff.

Ali threw a rockin party on Friday night in celebration of our favorite month: Rocktober!!

It was a costume party - dress up as your favorite rockstar (or really any rock/pop star and/or musician) and our peeps really rallied with costumes, which made it soooo fun!!

Ev & Sara have an awesome place in Russian Hill that looks out over the entire bay. Gorgeous! It was the perfect vantage point to watch the planes & it was great to see all these peeps again.

For some reason I only took pics while up on the roof, but the party inside lasted for many more hours and was soo fun! I wish I had more photos because not only do I not even have one of myself, but I met Amanda & Todd that day and would have loved to have a pic to commemorate that! :)

I started the night by heading out to the Wooden Charcoal Barbecue House, at Geary & 10th Ave, for my first time EVAR experiencing Korean BBQ (well, like this anyway). It was quite the feast! And great to see Kevin, who was an old client contact of mine before he bought a round the world ticket & has been traveling ever since! awesome!

Next up was picking up my girls Ali & Jess, and meeting up with Aubs, Jordan, Ryan, Misty and Sean for the show at Slims. All three bands were great, as always & we had a fun night! Great to see the Birdmonster boys back in town, and fun running into Elise, Mike & Anna, too! wooo!

Best idea ever: Invite all your friends to the beach for a big potluck day in the sun celebration!

So relaxing all the while spending some awesome quality time with friends. Happy Birthday Buzz & Courtney!

It's SUCH a beautiful day here today, we had to get out & go on a hike! Ryan & I had talked about it the day before and I called Lulu last minute and she was down - so off we went! yay! We stopped at Progressive Grounds, up on Cortland, afterwards for yummy smoothies, too.

I pretty much holed up all week, so it felt good to get out & enjoy some time with my friends! Jim made us some AMAZING food and we all drank many glasses of wine and even played cards! Afterwards it was still early so I headed over to the Haight where I met up with Ali, Jesse and some others @ Persian Aub Zam Zam... and Mario & Ryan showed up too! yay!

Breakfast w/ Adam & Becca @ Universal Cafe; SFZineFest @ Cellspace; Hanging out (me preparing/printing my files to go make copies) at my place, where Kazoo falls in love with Kevin - so cute!; Trip to Kinkos & spontaneous yummy sushi dinner; then back to my place for Print Gocco fun! Afterwards we even went over to Kevin's & dug into his zines/books before finally picking up his friend and going to get a slice of pie @ Mels! Wow! Seriously about 13 hours w/ Kevin and a really fun day overall. :)

We started @ Lucky 13 where we exchanged gifts & in general took over with our fabulousness. Then it was Cold War Kids time - we love them!!! Then back to Lucky 13 for more fun, because that's what we do best. awww yaaa - Happy Birthday, Misty!! We love you! xoxoxo

A bunch of us took Aubrey up on her gracious offer of joining her (aka sneaking us on) the Google Hornblower Cruise, and we had a blast! Free drinks & apps = we were feelin the Aubrey/Google love. :)

Afterwards Mario & I impulsively decided to check out Ripley's Believe it or Not (I had never been) before heading over to our 8:30 reservations at the Franciscan, which is an amazing seafood restaurant right on the water. We indulged in a 5 course tasting menu (thanks Mario!) before heading over to 111 Minna to check out the last night of the Fecal Face show. We ran into Nick Douglas there & dragged him along to go surprise Ali @ the Bigfoot Lounge where she was having a drink with Sean. Super fun night!!

Earlier in the night I went to SFist party @ the Varnish gallery, but for some reason didn't snap any photos! Afterwards I headed to Lucky 13 & the Irish trio showed up & then Ali, Buzz, Ryan & Aubs showed up cuz they had been at a show @ Cafe Du Nord! fun! I took off with Helly, Ash & Kristin for the night, because it was their last night out on the town before they go to Burning Man & then ship off to Ireland!! I'm stoked I met these crazy Irish kids... they're awesome! xoxo

About 23 of us hit Snakes on a Plane lastnight and it was SO fun!!! The movie is seriously hilarious... I even screamed out loud a few times! haha! The best part was all of us, and the entire crowd - it was like one huge party! One of the best movie going experiences I've ever had - AWESOME!

As some of you may or may not know, I work with a group of teens every week who publish a website called Bamboozled.org . Well, tonite was the last meeting for a few of our seniors who are heading off to college, so we had a party! I ordered us all pizza & brought my button maker... it was a huge hit! fun!

In honor of Sketch Tuesdays (an event 111 Minna is doing now), I thought I'd snap a few photos of my various doodles, most of which were done at some point in the last year or so. I have stacks of journals & sketchbooks full of these... I need to do more with them, so this is my first step. Sharon hosted a clothing swap & a bunch of us girls enjoyed mimosas, quiche, cupcakes and tried on a bunch of clothes! I only snapped a few photos right before we all left, bags o goodies in hand! :)

Afterwards I headed over to see the peeps gathered in Dolores Park... another beautiful Sunday in the Mission!

I first met Aaron @ the Shooting Gallery for my friend Eric Joyner's show. He paints robots & donuts - does it get cooler than that? :) Aaron & I went for dinner at a yummy Vietnamese place called Mangoteen & then I met back up with the girls, Jess, Alice & friends @ the Gallery again. THEN I headed over to the Hemlock & then headed Edinburgh Castle. Good times!

Matt, Stig & I met for a delicious, long dinner @ Zuni. Afterwards we had wine & cheese at a little Hotel wine bar next door - and then even went to Sauce for yet another drink before heading over to the 500 Club to meet up with Ryan, Ali & the gang. Ali surprised me a few days ago when she found out she was able to get on the list for this show, AND had a + 1, which means ME! yay!! :) We all (Ali, Aubs, Cam, Ted, Misty, Derek & I) went for Thai before hand & then hit the show. The rest of the crew had upstairs seats, but Ali & I had floor, so we went down in front. Brendon Benson was way nicer than the first time we saw him - and then there's Jack White - JACK WHITE!!! wooo! Very cool to see them live... esp for free! :)

Misty's back in town from her Austin/Hong Kong/Korea trip - yay! So Ali, Jojo & I met her & Ted @ Zeitgeist for a few beers. SUCH a gorgeous day! Ali & I went for lunch afterwards, stopped in at Therapy where I bought some fabulous new sunglasses & then ran into Holly at the Casanova Lounge. sweet!

We all gathered for dinner @ La Rondalla and then headed over to Medjool's rooftop bar for more drinkies. Happy Birthday, sweet LyneyBunney!! xoxoxo

Ali works at an artist management company, called Tough Love, where they manage Josh Ritter, the Submarines & a few others. I am really into the Subs sound and was happy Ali rounded up the peeps to go see their du Nord show! They played a great show & then we all went to Lucky 13 for drinkies! It was a great way to spend my first night back home! Unbelievable!! Being surrounded by that many hard core Radiohead fans and having Radiohead up there giving us 110% - oh man, it was amazing!! We didn't have to wait in line too long & had a fun couple sitting in front of us who are from Ireland, but who are living in SF for the summer. They were so fun! And then later I went on a little excursion & met some other cool guys. Needless to say I had SUCH a fun night!! The show *completely* blew me away, and everything else - all the cool peeps, the summery weather, the venue - was icing on the cake! Danny & his friend Austin came to town for the geektastic event: BarCamp San Francisco. I arrived at the Microsoft office party late, but just in time for us to chat a little & then take off for House of Shields. fun night!

John & I had dinner at NOPA first and it was yumm! Black Angels were great and LD was really different than I thought it was going to be... but the few songs I loved off their first album sounded good - and they had a really fun, almost cute, energy on stage. Big surprise though in terms of them as a whole. I really thought it was just like two indie white kids out of NYC or something. hahaa. fun night!

Yay, birthdays are so fun! And then Dennis treated me to a lunch at Canteen where Danny & his friends joined us, too! yay!

Even though I was partyin into the wee hours on Saturday night, I still managed to rally myself (and Ryan) to the Futureheads show Sunday night w/ Ted & Misty.

The French Kicks never seem to impress me live - I'll stick to listening to them on CD - but the Futureheads were great, as always! I love them. I managed to even stay standing long enough to make it through the encore, but I attribute that completely to the fact that it was such a great show! Big thanks to Ted for the tix & to Ryan for rallying last minute! xo
