I BKT'd with QOD Gold for the first time aroud the 2nd week of June.
I love the BKT so far, and it's not as hard to do it yourself as I thought (not to mention MUCH cheaper) I wanted to try it to help with my SSK's, which I felt were hindering my retention.
I planned to do it every 4 weeks, but I'm a little behind schedule. I'll try to do another treatment before the end of July.
I know I need to cut my ends, but I never wear it down, so I'm going to wait until the end of the year....and I refuse to cut off more that 2 inches at a time, lol.

These were all taken between March 13th and 15th when I was taking down my cornrows.

These were the ONLY pics besides the Sept. length check that I took of my hair this whole year. I need to try to take more, this is just sad, lol.
I only blowdried to make it a little more manageable for my sister to braid it.

These braids were put in labor day weekend because I was getting tired of looking at/ manipulating my hair. It wasn't growing fast enough for me and my sister hated rebraiding my cornrows because my hair is so "nappy" (her words, not mine! lol.) I'm going to leave them in for as long as possible so I'll hopefully have some substantial growth my next length check.
ETA: I only made it to the first week of November....got tired of them. I'll be putting my hair back in cornrows and wigging it for a while.

The close up shots will be for growth comparison purposes after I've had the braids in for a while. I alternate between MT and OCT.

Hopefully, I'll start doing this more regularly now that I have a camera!

I'm keeping individual braids in for 6 months. They've already been in for a month and I'm just now taking pics.
ETA: I only left these in for about 3 months and did cornrows un wigs for the rest of the time.
I usually get waist length braids, but I got tired of the weight and cut the hair in half this time around. But these braids are too short and my real hair is so close to the ends that my hair sticks out of some of them toward the end and I can't dip them in hot water to curl them without dipping my real hair, which I DO NOT want to do!
I guess I'll have to get WL braids again next time.
