Romania - Painted Monasteries of Bucovina II
Bucovina is a region in the northern part of Romania. The painted monasteries were built during the 15th-16th centuries (in the days of Stephen the Great and his son Petru Rares). The monasteries were designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1993.
