What you see here is an attempt by me to replicate my son's truck. This truck was his frist "car". He found it on the back row of a used car lot and it was love at first sight. He is going to be 39 this year so it is a long term relationship. He says he will be buried in it. As long as I don't have to dig the hole I don't care. Like all projects it statred out as a street truck and then became a race only truck. Tony ran the B&M Series with it for a number of years. Made enough points to go to the Million Dollar Race in Mephis, Tenn. He didn't win but had a good time anyway. I thought it would be a piece of cake to build this. I started with the Revell Street Truck kit for the 2 wheel drive frame and a Monogram 4x4 kit for the correct cab and fenders. It turned out that was all I used from both kits. The engine with the powerglide transmission came from the junk yard. The Street Truck kit had a straight bar front axle. So back to the junk yard. I found a front suspension with GM lower control arms and made it fit. Same for the rear end. The wheels and 5 point belts are aftermarket. The tires from the junkyard. I used Tiger Tail braided line for the fuel lines and seed beads for the A&N Fittings. The whole brake system is plumbed and battery cables are complete and accurate. I am very happy with how it turned out.
The guy looking the truck over is my son's friend Matt. Matt is drinking a can of think juice. I am sure you are familiar with think juice, I think I can take him, I think I can dancce and my favorite on Karaote night I think I can sing. Anyway Matt is thinking about what he needs to do to his Camaro to out run the 7.42 dial in. He might be thinking he could do it with a good light.
