Chatterbox Closing Soon 8-26-2018

The new car has to have 500 miles on it to utilize the full power, so I took a ride this morning up to the Chatterbox before they closed to avoid the rush and got there before they opened. It got crowded really quickly. I sat at the counter to avoid the rush.
On the way home the odometer went over the 500 miles. The power of the Callaway is amazing to say the least.

M&M Memorial Motor Madness Show 5-27-2018

t was a beautiful day in the neighborhood almost, until it started to rain. A small group from both clubs made their way to Hackettstown for the Memorial Motor Madness show put on by the Hackettstown Rotary Club. Due to the forecast of rain and bad weather the show attendance was rather light. Also quite a few vendors were missing. The rain held off long enough to check out the cars and get a few pictures. Two artists found an interesting subject in my car and did drawings from different angles. William Martin, with the superman shirt, did the side and rear view, while Glenn Whitmore did the front three quarter view. They both said they would scan their work and send it to me.

It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood and that neighborhood was Lehigh Carbon Community College for their Fall Festival & Car Show. A small group of us (Mark Dressel and myself) headed up for the show. There was not a huge turnout for the show, but I think it was slightly larger than last year. Inside they had a large group of crafters, a Chinese Auction, D.J., face painting, kids craft projects, and plenty of food. LCCC Students picked the winners of the car show and Mark took third.

Cabela's Car Show 10-23-2016

It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood and that neighborhood was the lower parking lot at Cabela's for the 5th Annual Car Show. The sun was out but there was quite a breeze and wind gusts at times. There was a $5.00 donation that benefited the Skylar Kauffman Scholarship Fund. They had a DJ, 50/50, Chinese Auction, and trophies. Of course you could wonder through Cabelas and get something to eat inside. About 240 cars and trucks showed up. A lot of cars were not ones seen at the local shows. A nice event

Smithville Corvette Show 10-16-2016

From Brad Orey
On Sunday I went to a show in Smithville, NJ for the first time. Leaving PA at zero dark fifteen (6:15 AM) wasn't too much fun, but the ride down was almost 3 hours long and registration was at 9:00. It was well worth the drive and was an all Corvette show judged by members of the Original Garden State Corvette Club. I made the trip with Joel Dean and Chuck Habel from the Allentown Corvette Club and we had a great time. There were probably 200 Corvettes spread out among 3 parking areas divided into many classes including Stock, Modified and Custom. Being from out of the area, I got to see a lot of different Corvettes that I have never seen before. Over 75 Awards were given out starting around 2:30. I was fortunate enough to win the Stock C4 (1991-1996) class which made me eligible for the Best in Show for all the C4 (1984-1996) Corvettes. I guess the judges liked my Corvette enough to give the C4 Best in Show award. I was very surprised since there were quite a few very nice Corvettes in the C4 classes. Chuck also won 1st Place in the C6 Modified with his beautiful 2013 Night Race Blue Grand Sport Coupe. It was a fun day at a great show. Long day for sure but lots of fun.

Free State Corvette Club's "Corvette Weekend" Ocean City, Md 10-15-2016

It was a beautiful weekend in the neighborhood and that neighborhood was Ocean City, Md. Over 740 Corvettes converged on Ocean City for the Free State Corvette Club's Corvette Weekend. A good sized group from the Allentown Club showed up for the weekend with only several of us in the show. On Thursday, eight of us met for dinner at Fager's Island. Friday morning everyone headed over to the Clarion to register and check out this year's apparel. After that, Joanne and I cruised over to Assateague State Park to see the horses and other attractions. For dinner on Friday a large group met at the Ocean City Fish Company(formally the Captain's Galley). To our surprise, they had live entertainment to serenade our dinner and dancing if you were so inclined. Saturday was the show, rallies, boardwalk parade, and the awards dinner. On Sunday Joanne I went to Berlin, Md to peruse the antique shops and Toy Town. A good time was had by all with great weather
