Bear Creek Bridge on South Main St. Hannibal Missouri's bridge to no-where. Error after error for years, a giant money pit, hidden objectives and agendas, a typical village follie?? There are pics of the bridge progress in some of the monthly albums. The bridge finaly opened to auto/truck traffic by early 2009....4 1/2 years later! The sidewalks are still not open and probably will not be until at least the summer/fall of 2009. iowaz@hotmail.com

3 years because of construction and/or design and/or supervison failures, this series of pics is the first week after starting to demolish part of the bridge in an attempt make the bridge useable by perhaps Fall of 2008, assuming the northern approach issues can be mediated between the railroad and village. Total final out of pocket cost and 'overpay' to the taxpayers for the project?? Who knows!!
