DAF 3300

Out of a Revell kit I build this Factory DAF 3300 like it is on the cover of the DAF 3300 brochure. I drilled the steps to get real holes, added backcovers and headrests to the seats. Cut out the center of the frontwheel hubcap and used the latest Italeri wheels and rubber tires.

Diamond Reo

I Remember starting it in 2000, now, almost 12 years later, it is about time I get it finished. Just before Jabbeke 2012 it was done. Only some very minor details left that will be sorted later.

Fiat F170

Out of the Italeri Magirus I build a 1978 Fiat F170. I started it during the summer holiday of 2003, finished it just before Jabbeke 2009. Not that it took me 6 years to build, it has just been laying around for a while. I started with changing the air-cooled Magirus engine for a Fiat V8 diesel engine from an Iveco Turbostar kit. The front fenders were altered into the old style round version. And I cut out the doors to be made moveable. But I could not get them to open en close properly. So now the doors are fixed in an open position. Makes it look more interesting if you ask me. The rear fenders are altered Scania fenders. The rims and tires are Italeri accessories. The air intake behind the cab is made out of a combination of an Iveco Turbostar and Magirus air intake. The link between the gearlever and the gearbox is made out of small brass tube and some steel wire. I used Scotch Magic tape for the front mudflaps and drilled out the holes in the steps. Some KFS airlines finished it all.

Freightliner FLD120

I used the Revell kit for this Truck. Compared to the Italeri version this one has the stacks behind the sleeper instead of next to the cab. Makes for a nice change.

GMC General Roadway

Using the 1999 AMT-Ertl reissue GMC General I'm building a Roadway SD tractor with multipurpose dolly. The dolly can be used to pull two 27ft trailers or coupled to the tractor to pull a 40ft trailer. The pictures will show how I made it work.

Kenworth Alaskan Hauler

This is the AMT Alaskan Hauler and I decided not to go for the obvious green and red colours. I was inspired by an australian kw look a like. In 2005 I finished the extendable trailer I had planed to go with it. It was shown at the Jabbeke 2005 modeltruckshow.

Kenworth K100 with Freuhauf trailer

This is a 1:43 kit and although small in scale it does have a lot of detailed parts. I remember the Kenworth alone having about 130 parts. It does take a bit of trial and error to get the KW correctly on it wheels. And with the reissue of these great 1:43 kits by Heller you can build a great vintage US truck and trailer for the money of just a 1:25 tractor. See the "kits and parts" section of this site.

Kenworth T600

The first AMT I build after starting with this great hobby again. A bit disapointing with the old W925 chassis but it does turn out into a genuine looking T600. The model is completely handpainted and it took two coats to get the ivory right.

Kenworth W925 ;Movin On

I believe this was my third truckmodel that I build after picking up the hobby again in 1997. The decals were very transparant so I opted for self-adhesive white striping and filled it in with light green paint.

MB 1628L w. Carditanker

Also one of my earlier models. I was looking for the Kieserling kit but had to seddle for the L version MB. The trailer is the same as with the Kieserling kit. I wanted it to have an Euro International transport look. I used selfadhesive foil to chrome the tank. I'm rather pleased with how it turned out

Peterbilt 359 Little Window

This kit was bought as a build-up for only a couple of euro's. Almost all parts were present but needed a good clean and/or paint strip. After the parts were all cleaned-up I wanted to give the Pete a real 60s look with an original Peterbilt colour sceme. The truck is almost box-stock except for some oil and air lines and a chain holder on the back of the sleeper. In 2005 I build a trailer for it to show at the Jabbeke modeltruckshow.

Peterbilt 359 w Graveltrailer

This was my first Truckmodel when I started building kits again in 1997. At the time I was unaware how hard to get the AMT-Ertl kits were and had to seddle for a Revell 359 with a Ertl dumptrailer. Not having any info what so ever about the 359 or the trailer, I think they didn't turn out that bad.

Peterbilt 377

This Revell kit is somewhat modified by cutting out the doors to show the interior. The sleeper has real carpet. I also cut off a piece of the sidekirts. Further details are with the pictures.

Volvo F12 Cetra

My dad's truck back in the 80s. I used a Revell F12 and modified the rearaxle to look like a boogielift. The compressor behind the cab is scratchbuild. The whole truck is brushpainted with Humbrol Enamel.

Volvo F1220 with 20ft Container Trailer Esci 1:32

Although this is a snap kit it is very detailed none the less. And the finished result doesn't show its snap origin. There will be a TWM article about this truck soon.
